It was...

It's easy to forget that everything you say and do influences the people around you.  For years I was a negative, mean-spirited person, not recognizing how much my own words were hurting myself and the others around me.  Ever so often I slip back into those old ways, and the pain of those years fills my veins with cold, familiar apathy.  When I feel insecure, I forget my place in this world, the amount of good I'm capable of doing. Sometimes, it takes a stern look and a few of the right words of someone you care about to remind you of all that, and I'm glad that certain someone was standing next to me tonight.  There will always be good times, and there will always be times where things aren't so great.  No matter what I say or do, I know I can always remember that my goal is complete zen positivity, and that a small stumble towards a greater goal isn't something to lose hope about.  Frowning never solves a problem, but the edge of a smile always holds more than a twinkling of hope.
